TADS (Tedburn Amateur Dramatic Society) is a friendly local drama group which welcomes people who enjoy singing, dancing and acting to take part in our performances.
Our next event is an adult “Old Skool” Disco which will be held on Saturday 8th July.
The evening is being held in memory of Penny Dymond, one of our members who passed away recently. All proceeds will be donated to the Force Cancer Charity in Exeter.
There will be school dinners served, a tuck shop, a few surprise “live acts” and all your favourite music from your school days, so get your tickets now!
Full details are shown on the poster —————–>>
TADS’ most recent shows were our annual pantomime “Aladdin”, in January 2017 and “This, That & A Bit of the Other”, A show consisting of 2 One Act Plays, along with a variety section and a couple of songs in October 2016.
The group donated £700 to the Alzheimer’s Society and £200 to the local Youth Club from the proceeds of these two shows.
In June 2016 TADS held a Charity Fundraising Evening in conjunction with Marie Curie.
“Dinner Down Memory Lane” showcased entertainment through the decades from the 1940s to the 1990s, using live performances, sketches and music with a quiz thrown in for good measure.
A 3 course meal (from the 1970s) was included and after the show was over, the evening concluded with a Retro Disco until the early hours!! The evening was a great success and raised over £1,200 for Marie Curie.
These photos are from the show’s rehearsals and hopefully capture some of the fun the cast had putting on the show for the audience.
Last year’s pantomime was “The Sleeping Beauty”which took place in February 2016.
The photos below are from the show.
The show was a great success, which enabled the group to donate £600 to our two chosen charities – “Kidney Research UK” and “Make a Wish UK”.
Other recent productions include “Comedy Tonight” in Oct 2015 and “An Evening of Comedy”, a Dinner Theatre Evening including Three One Act Plays in June 2015, (The evening was held in aid of Marie Curie and a total of £2,000 was raised on the night.)
We also have a backstage crew, who build and paint the scenery, a costumes and make-up team, and sound and light crews.
We are always keen to welcome new members who would like to be on stage, or help behind the scenes, whatever their level of skill, enthusiasm is what we are looking for! If you would like to give us a try, please contact us.
