DUNSFORD SINGERS: A Teign Valley Choir
Glorious Music for a Summer’s Evening
Under the leadership of our dynamic young conductor, Tim Pithers, the Dunsford Singers is now established as one of the best local choirs. This summer we have been invited to open the Dawlish Arts Festival and will then be bringing similar concerts a little closer to home. We hope we can tempt you to come along to one of our very special events in Chudleigh Church on Saturday 16th June 7.30pm or Dunsford Church Saturday 23rd June 7.30pm. There’s nothing better than an evening out listening to live music, especially when you have only to stroll up the road or drive a few minutes to the venue!
Our programme is diverse, with something to suit all tastes and ages. It includes the ravishing and very moving modern masterpiece Requiem by John Rutter, plus rousing musical theatre medleys from Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. Added to the mix will be organ solos from Dr Peter King, Organist Emeritus of Bath Abbey and internationally acclaimed recitalist – your chance to hear the stunning Widor’s Toccata played by an expert! We hope to augment the programme with a few other delights too.
Please join us for what promises to be an evening of really beautiful music-making, in aid of Michael Morpurgo’s charity ‘Farms for City Children’. Tickets, priced £8 (£4 under 16s) available on the door or from Dandelion, Fore St Chudleigh, Dunsford Post Office, Jan (01647 252368) or Jane (01647 252519).
