Tennis Club

We have a very active social tennis club in the Village.

Members play all year round, and very rarely give in to the weather!

The Tennis Courts are at the Rec, which is down a drive on the left-hand side of the Whitestone Road as you leave the village.

Members usually meet to play between 10.30am and lunchtime on Sundays throughout the year, and from 6.00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesdays, during the summer months (as long as it is light enough).

The School and Youth Club also use the Courts during the week, but there is always room for people to come and have a game.

Many people think that Tennis Clubs can be a bit stuffy, but that is not how we do things in Tedburn!  We are a very informal group, with no dress code or complicated rules, and people of all levels and standards enjoy the game.

If people would like to play, all they have to do is to ring the Secretary/Treasurer Linda Bellshaw on 01647 61479 and ask for the key.  The Courts are available for anyone to hire and you do not have to play with a club member.

Court hire for guests of members:

Adult: £4.00 per hour
Junior/student/unwaged: £2 per hour

Court hire for non members:

Adults £10 per hour. 2 – 4 persons
Juniors/students/unwaged £5 per hour. 2 – 4 persons

Anyone can join the Club by paying a small subscription, and can then use the Courts free for that year.  You can join as an individual (with reduced rates for under 16s and the unwaged), or as a couple or family.

Membership Fees: Full year April – March, or pro-rata.

Family membership                 £110 pa.
Junior / Student / Unwaged    £27.50 pa.
Key Deposit                               £6 on joining
