This statement applies to the contents of the ‘https://tedburnstmary.com/’ domain, which includes both the community website for the village of Tedburn St Mary and the official website for the Tedburn St Mary Parish Council sub-domain ‘https://tedburnstmary.com/parish-council/’.

The website is sponsored by the Tedburn St Mary Parish Council and is maintained by the Tedburn Webmaster who may be contacted at webmaster@tedburnstmary.com  We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. In order to facilitate this we have ensured that it is possible to carry out the following actions.

  • Zoom in without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Support the use of text to speech software found in most browsers.

In addition the majority of the documents available to download in the Parish Council section are made available in Microsoft Word Format to aid accessibility.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • PDF & JPG documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software. It must be noted that there are a significant number of JPG & PDF files used to advertise forthcoming events in the village.

If you need information on this website in a different format, please contact the Tedburn Webmaster at webmaster@tedburnstmary.com  We will consider your request and get back to as soon as possible.

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find any problems not listed on this page or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, contact: webmaster@tedburnstmary.com

Compliance Status

This website is not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard. The ‘non-compliances and exemptions’ are listed below.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).

Disproportionate burden

  • The majority of information displayed on the website is provided by third parties. We have assessed the cost of fixing the issues with navigation and accessing information. We believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations and result in the closure of the website.
